The DC Comic blockbuster filmed throughout Toronto with Union Station, Eaton Centre, and Lower Bay station being among a number of recognizable locations to be spotted in the film. Torontonians also played a role during filming in June of 2015 with Jared Leto testing out potential "Joker laughs" on unsuspecting residents, experimenting with different variations while out in public to see which made those nearby the most uncomfortable.
Filming on the Lakeshore Grounds
The underground tunnels of the former Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital served as the location of the prison cell for Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaue). The tunnel entrance to the Administration Building - today Humber College's G Building - held the bars for Killer Croc's cell and the sewer cap in front of this entrance was the top of the cell.
Behind the Scenes
The final scenes included in Suicide Squad for Killer Croc's cell were heavily computer generated to make them appear darker. Some behind-the-scenes photos taken by Wanda Buote, former Principal of Humber's Lakeshore campus, show the set in the tunnels as it appeared prior to the magic of film editing.
